Join us on Friday, August 25 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at the Imperial Centre for a unique Lunch and Learn in the Art Galleries. Lunch will take place amongst the exhibit Women of the Red Earth.
Our speakers are also the artists behind Women of the Red Earth: writer and poet Tonya Holy Elk Locklear, who is Lumbee/Oglala Lakota; and visual artist Margie Beth Labadie, who is Ashkenazi-Levi. They will be speaking about their individual artworks and inspirations as well as how their friendship developed into a creative partnership. They believe that “art and literature can be used toward creating culturual bridges and healing.”
