Yoga In The Galleries

Yoga in the Galleries is an after-hours relaxation experience amongst the art. Participants will be invited to bring their own yoga mat, pick a spot in an art gallery and be led by a certified yoga instructor through an hour program. It will be a fifteen week, Thursday evening program – perfect for professionals to come after work.

Every Thursday evening, March 23rd – June 29th, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Register online for all eight classes for only $70! Or, pay as you go. Walk-ins are only $5, as space allows.

 Open Art Studios: Painting #4152

Each Tuesday night, the Imperial Centre’s painting studio is open! Beginners to advanced students are welcome to share our studio, work on current projects, and inspire each other. A selection of easels will be available. No instruction or materials provided. Age 8+.

Intro to Photography #4158

Learn the art of taking great photographs! This hands-on workshop covers the basics of photography including how to recognize light, composition, and color balance. Cameras are not provided; students can use digital or manual point and shoot cameras, or a smartphone. Outdoor atire and walking shoes are recommended. Age 12+.

Intro to Shibori #4182

This two-day intensive class introduces the art of shibori or creating designs on textiles using dyes and paint. Students experiment with techniques of wrapping, stitching, tying, folding, and knotting to transform fabric into unique and wearable art. Beginner to intermediate, age 14+.

Intermediate Clay Throwing #4179

Continue to explore the art of throwing clay! Exentd your knowledge of transforming clay into functional and non-functional objects through wedging, throwing, finishing, and glazing. Perfect for beginner to intermediate age 15+.

Building Coil Pots: Family Workshop #4183

Scaling Compositions: Drawing & Painting Workshop #4186

Make small drawings big! Alongside our current exhibition artist, learn how to frame, scale, enlarge and transfer a composition to a large format. Students are encouraged to bring a photograph or a piece of their artwork for inspiration. All will take home an 16×20 original painting. Beginner to advanced, age 14+.
