Join us on Friday, August 25th from 12:00pm-1:00pm at the Imperial Centre for a unique Lunch and Learn in the Art Galleries. Lunch will take place amongst the exhibit, Women of the Red Earth.
Our speakers for the Lunch and Learn are also the artists behind Women of the Red Earth: writer and poet Tonya Holy Elk Locklear, who is Lumbee/Oglala Lokota; and visual artist Margie Beth Labadie, who is Ashkenazi-Levi. They will be speaking about their individual artworks and inspirations as well as how their friendship developed into a creative partnership. They believe that "art and literature can be used towards creating cultural bridges and healing."
It is FREE to participate in this lunch program. Please RSVP by going online or calling us at (252) 972-1266. Space is limited, so sign up soon!
Preschool-age students (ages 3-5) will explore a different topic each session through hands on activities, crafts and experiments. Classes meet every Thursday morning 10:30-11:15am. This is a parent/child program, no pre-registration is required, however seating is limited. FREE with Museum admission.
All families are invited to learn the art of illustration and storytelling through designing your own comic book. Experiment with brush and ink, 2-dimensional animation, and character development.
