Although we will not host Yoga in the Galleries Thursday, July 5th, we will be stretching, balancing, and breathing all summer long starting Thursday, July 12th. We host yoga with Amy Skaggs every Thursday from 5:30-6:30pm. And, it’s only $5 per person, per class!
You can expect a welcoming and relaxing environment. Instructor Amy Skaggs practices hatha yoga. She says, “Hatha Yoga is a form of yoga that develops strength, flexibility, bodily relaxation, and mental concentration. There is an emphasis on the breath, asanas or postures, and the sequences of asanas, designed to move the body and promote relaxation.”
We recommend that you bring your own yoga mat, although the instructor will have extra mats on a first-come basis. Wear comfortable clothes that allow easy movement of all limbs.
Both! This yoga class is perfect for all levels of experience. The instructor provides a variety of options that accommodate all experience levels and some physical discomforts (bad knees, low back pain, tender wrists, etc). If you are more experienced at yoga, the instructor also provides extra challenges and suggestions on how to intensify a stretch or pose.
