The Children’s Museum & Science Center will be closed for exhibit change January 1-24, 2020.

This holiday season, check out “Spin” before it closes. “Spin” showcases the study of rotation, and how rotation affects nearly all aspects of our life. In this hands-on exhibition visitors can learn about centrifugal force, rotation, weight and so much more. Whether it is seeing how far your car travels at the Fast Lane station, or getting into the human centrifuge and experiencing the feeling of rotation first hand, Spin has countless ways to observe and experience the science of rotation and motion.

The Imperial Centre will be closed on December 24-26 for the holiday. Please visit us during out normal operating hours. It costs only $6 to visit the Children’s Museum and Sunday’s are free to city residents. For more information, please call (252) 972-1266.

Please join us for the opening of “From Here to There” on January 25th.

From Here to There (January 25-May 10, 2020) – Explore the science of how things move by land, sea and air at The Children’s Museum & Science Center’s new traveling exhibition, From Here to There. Lift, launch and levitate as you experiment with hands-on exhibits that make learning about gravity, friction, and the laws of motion fun. Ride a hovercraft to experience how air pressure works, adjust wind speed to form fabric into an airfoil, and float your sailboat to experiment with the effect of wind, rudder and sail positions.
