This year, we had an incredibly competitive show! We received 264 submissions and only 45 pieces made it into this show. All artists who submitted or were juried in should be proud of their accomplishments.
Our juror was Michele Davis Petelinz, Art Program Director of the African American Cultural Festival (AACF) in Raleigh, NC, immediate past president of the Carolina Mixed Media Art Guild, and an award-winning mixed media artist with over 25 years of experience in art-making, exhibitions, and event management. She said of her selection process, “As I viewed, assessed and made choices, I sought to create a balance of materials, process, and subject matter, to reflect the diversity of craft media. The work which was the most compelling had a strong narrative, made me feel something, or displayed masterful techniques which demanded several viewings.”
