Virtual Arts Education Programs

The Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences has gone virtual! We are so happy to be back and creating art with you! Join our teaching artists to experience a collection of wonderful fall classes and workshops for all ages. All our programs meet virtually through the ZOOM communication application. Virtual Yoga

Join us every Tuesday for an evening of virtual yoga. Robin Sellers, certified yoga instructor, leads our weekly session for participants age 16+. Get ready to unwind, stretch and begin a weekly yoga practice. Participants meet via the Zoom application. Registration is required by 3pm the day of the program, limited to 10 participants.

Creative Writing Techniques

Basic Macramé Knots

In this workshop, learn three basic knots that are the building blocks for macramé. Once mastered, you’ll combine all three techniques to create your very own, one of a kind macramé walls hanging. Materials list:

  • (1) Bead Landing™ Cotton Rope Value Pack or (1) Craft Designer 3mm/32 Ply Macramé Cord 50yds or (1) Bonnie Craft cord Craft Cord 4mm 100yds)

  • (1) 12″ Wood Dowel (or a found stick or an old ruler)

  • Scissors

  • Tape

  • 3-5′ foot work area with hook or rack to hang dowel from

  • Scrap string or hooks

Katy is enchanted by knots; inspired by their curves, uses, meanings, materials, history, and origins. She discovered macramé five years ago and describes it as a versatile medium that challenges her to explore shape and line through the lens of form and function.
