The 64th annual Rocky Mount Christmas parade will take place in downtown Rocky Mount and will be full of floats, marching bands, Santa Claus and more during the event, which will begin at 3:00pm. Visit downtownrockymount.com for more information.
Friday, December 6
Kick off the month with an evening of fun at the Imperial Centre for Arts and Sciences. Enjoy free admission for the whole family for the art galleries, Children’s Museum, planetarium shows, and MORE! This month’s activities include carriage rides, Black Nativity theater production, an appearance by Santa, tree lighting at 6:00pm, a performance by Tim & Susan Wells in the art museum, art activities, and holiday shopping opportunities with our local craft vendors! Braswell Memorial Library will hold a pop-up library, and there will be a 7:00pm planetarium show as well as an 8:00pm laser show.
Other downtown businesses are partnering and will be open as well, including Moe & D’s Restaurant, Larema Coffee House, Bel Air Art Center and Rocky Mount Mills. Attendees of First Friday are encouraged to visit these downtown establishments for food and fun.

The free event will feature music, a sledding hill, arts & crafts activities, carriage rides, and a visit from Santa.

The Christmas story told in dialogue, narrative, pantomime, gospel song and folk spiritual. A unique creation of the poet and playwright Langston Hughes, portraying the inspiring story of the Holy Family. Music arranged by Aaron Robinson. Produced in partnership with Word Tabernacle Church of Rocky Mount.
