Handcrafted Juried Art Show

The Handcrafted Juried Art Show is a national art show that features handcrafted materials such as ceramics, fiber, glass, metal, wood, and mixed media. This year, we received more submissions than ever before! A whopping eighty artists submitted 264 entries for the juror to consider. This impressive collection of submissions was handed over to Michelle Davis Petelinz to make her final 45 selection. You can find Michelle’s bio below.


Monetary Prizes

We offer four monetary prizes: Acquisition Award (purchase prize), First Place, Second Place, and Third Place. The juror may also select merit awards at her discretion, but there is no monetary prize for this special recognition. Please join me in congratulating the award recipients!

Juror’s Bio

Michelle Davis Petelinz is Art Program Director of the African American Cultural Festival (AACF) in Raleigh, NC, immediate past president of the Carolina Mixed Media Art Guild, and an award-winning mixed media artist with over 25 years of experience in art-making, exhibitions, and event management. Her interests include symbology, visual narratives, and the exploration of cultural imagery through art. As an art educator and president of the board of directors of Arts Access, she is passionate about its mission: making the arts accessible to people with disabilities. Michelle earned a BA in art history from Wellesley College, and has gallery representation in Raleigh, NC and Frederick, MD. Learn more by visiting her website: kindredspiritstudios.com.
