Conveniently located minutes from US 64 and I-95 in downtown Rocky Mount, the Imperial Centre’s versatile campus is home to the city’s cultural arts and science museum. Steeped in industrial charm, this historic landmark has been restored and showcases original brick and metalwork of the Imperial Tobacco Company. Booker T Theater, built in 1901, serves as the perfect historic theater setting for any occasion. Both venues offer a range of unique settings to compliment weddings, receptions, business and social events.

FAQs
Renters must schedule an appointment to meet with the rental coordinator and tour event spaces. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 10am – 4pm. To request, please call 252-972-1266 or email rentals@imperialcentre.org.
Can anyone book a rental at our facility?
Yes, anyone 21 years of age or older may rent the available spaces.
How far in advance can I make a reservation?
Rental applications may be submitted up to 12 months in advance of the event date. Please check with the rental coordinator for date availability.
Can I see the rental space before I book it?
Yes! The rental coordinator is available by appointment only for a tour of the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences or the Booker T. Theatre.
Do we have to hire a caterer?
Yes, renters are responsible for selecting and hiring catering services for their event. Please note that cooking is not allowed inside any of our facilities.
Do you serve alcohol?
No, neither the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences nor the Booker T. Theatre serve or provide alcohol for rental events. Renters who wish to serve alcohol must submit the required paperwork and receive prior approval.
What is the maximum number of people your facility can accommodate?
Our event spaces can accommodate intimate to larger events. Our largest indoor space can accommodate as many as 350 people (floating/standing reception) in one space. Please check the rental application for detailed information on each space.
Do you provide tables & chairs?
Yes, the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences and the Booker T. Theatre provide tables and chairs up to the maximum capacity for your approved rental space at no extra cost.
