Guilds

The Imperial Centre partners with several local community guilds celebrating arts of different disciplines. Each holds monthly public meetings and special member workshops. For information, please call Art Education at 252-972-1632. Visitors and beginners are welcome at all guild meetings.

Tar River Basket Weavers

Meetings: 4th Saturday monthly, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This guild is dedicated to the art of basket making. Teaching is accomplished through shared experience and knowledge.

Tar River Piecemakers Quilting Guild

Meetings: 2nd Saturday monthly, 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Established in 2000, TRPQG promotes the love of quilts, sewing and making. This guild is passionate about fabric, design, and art which is shared with the community through donations to charitable organizations.

USA Dance

Meetings: 2nd Saturday monthly, 7:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
The Rocky Mount Chapter of this national organization strives to promote ballroom dancing in the local community and to educate the public regarding the physical, mental, and social benefits of ballroom dancing.
Fee: $5/members, $8/general

Tar River Arts Collaborative

Meetings: 4th Sunday monthly, 3-5 pm
The Tar River Arts Collaborative is a network of artists of all kinds brought together by their love of art. The guild focuses on bringing artists together to foster a culture of sharing ideas, networking, and building a community of artists in the region. They strive to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth to their membership.
