Celebrate the artist inside you! Arts classes and workshops at the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences are for community members of all ages to experiment with artistic disciplines, different materials and techniques. Try something new, collaborate with one another, and stay curious.

Handbuilding and Wheel Throwing Class
Perfect for the beginning and intermediate student to learn or review basics in Handbuilding and Wheel Throwing. Practice wedging, centering, trimming, and glazing as well as hand building techniques.
All materials are included.
No experience is necessary.
Limited to 10 participants.
Ages 12 and up

Mommy and Me Workshop (Let’s Celebrate Dr. Seuss!)
March 17, 2026, 10 a.m.-11 a.m.

This is a parent and child workshop designed to provide a themed art activity for parent and child to explore and create different mediums and techniques in art. It is also an opportunity for our staff to showcase educational opportunities at the Imperial Centre.
NO EXPERIENCE IN NECESSARY
LIMITED TO 25 PARTICIPANTS.
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Siblings are allowed to sign up and participate; however, please remember that this activity is designed as a preschool age and parent workshop.
Theme: Dr. Seuss (Green Eggs and Ham & The Color Green)
Instructor will read a story and introduce projects focusing on the color green.
Parent and child/children will create a project based on the book.
After activity, families may explore the Children’s Museum with free admission and/or Maria V. Howard Arts Center.
FEE: $5/CHILD COVERS ALL SUPPLIES

Cuts, Conversation, and Care
Sunday, March 22nd, 12 p.m. -4 p.m.
Local Barbers will be offering free haircuts, conversation, and connection.
We ask that you pre-register for this event. Deadline for registration: March 13, 2026.

Painted Voices of Our Community Paint Party
Saturday, April 18th, 2 p.m.-4 p.m.
Come create a painting to add to the growing community art installation,
Painted Voices of Our Community: Expression Tunnel Art Installation Exhibition.
The current community art exhibition is now on display at the Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences. Your creation will travel in future exhibits! Pre-Registration is required. Open to all ages.
