ARTIST: Dion Burroughs

Artist Statement:
My art journey of self-discovery and self-expression is the process by which I choose to explore many different styles of art: Religions in Art, Black Art, Fine Art, and Traditional Art.

I am intrigued by memory’s subjective Life and my ancestral roots of freedom-what has been internally deemed worthy of remembering. It is truly possible to re-visit my ancestral roots of African Americans past when the information stored has been inevitably distilled by time, dreams, love, bravery, and fear.
My memories are both a source of poverty, pain, healing, and freedom-my sprints of Interrogation and inspiration, even freedom. My memories are what I tap into when I am creating wonderful works of art.
